There’s stuff you something NEED to buy (like expansions, content unlocks of other types, monthly subscription fees). What’s the most expensive MMO to play at the start of 2021 – and is it different from last year? How much would it really cost you to get reasonably up to speed with the right DLC or “necessary” cash shop addons like bank space or bag slots? And what about “optional” subs and hidden fees I haven’t even thought of? To be clear, I’m not talking about the games charging you $1000 for a pixel ship I am talking about the MMOs that actually require you to put the most money into it, as of this very moment in time, just to play through the content. We know it’s expensive – sometimes absurdly so – but we do it anyway.įor this morning’s Daily Grind, I want to take the community’s pulse on which MMO is actually the most expensive just to properly play it. But others of us are willing to drop big bucks on exactly the right game, as long as it’s delivering.
Let’s be honest, most gamers are not in fact made of money, and so we spend a lot of time thinking about (and arguing about) whether we’re getting our “money’s worth” out of MMOs.
